These are made out of marzipan

(A confection made of ground almonds or almond paste, egg whites, and sugar, often molded into decorative shapes. Marzipan in English is almond paste; traditionally made with almonds, sugar and egg whites, it has a very strong almond flavor; it is now sold ready made; used in several pastries and desserts. )
